M is for Motunui
#a2zartchallenge -
This is a fictional island based in the South Pacific, and is home to Moana. The name Motunui is likely to come from Maori origins, and its creators have honoured the people and cultures of many of the real life Polynesian Islands to create a fictional setting full of genuine heritage.

Moana is an adventurous teenager who begins a quest to save her people by bringing back life to her island. On the way she meets the once mighty demigod Maui, and they battle enormous odds to restore the heart of Te Fiti to its natural place. The ocean needed Moana to complete this to lift the curse that was perishing the islands, and return the people of Motunui to sailing across the oceans.
This is genuinely one of the best Disney films in my opinion, I sobbed at the cinema and every time since! Powerful story and one of the best soundtracks alongside it!
